NOT GOING TO DIE
Lyrics: Milla Elmiina Pulska
Composer: Oula Guttorm

Closed in a glassbox
the uniqueness to wonder
bathing in its own colours
as the way it was born

It sits inside with tenacity,
watches with peacefullness
straight into the mouth of the bigger one
the biggest one doesn’t always win,
doesn’t it?

”I’m not going to die
my journey will go on
through the times with blood
and in my heart
that holds every colour”

Closed in a glassbox
almost the only one that’s left
the one that’s endangered
the special individual

It sits inside, go and pinch
listen to when its lungs yoik
and they pound
the rhythm of the mountain
I guess hope will overcome despair?

IN ÁIGGO JÁPMIT
Sánit: Milla Elmiina Pulska
Šuokŋa: Oula Guttorm

Giddejuvvon lássašerbmii
áidnalunddot maid imaštit
iežas ivnniin nu lávggoda
dego masa riegádii

Siste čohkká sitkatvuođain
geahččá ráfálašvuođain
njuolga stuorabu njálbmái
iihan stuoramus álo vuoitte?

”In áiggo jápmit
mu mátki bistá
áiggiid čada vara fárus
ja mu váimmus
mii seailluha
visot ivnniid”

Giddejuvvon lássašerbmii
measta áidna su šlájas
áitatvuloš oktagas
indiviida earenoamáš

Siste čohkká, mana cikcet
guldal go su geahppát juiget
ja dat derpet duoddara ritmma
amma doaivu vuoitá eahpedoaivvu?

  1. I play goalie for a floorball (innebandy/salibandy) team and after reading this, I now have ”iihan stuoramus álo vuoitte” written on the back of my helmet. Being only about 1.7 m tall, it fits well for me.
